Caressing our soles with UGG Boots
As history suggests, the UGG Boots have been around ever since the times of World War One, back in 1920s. It has been a long journey ever since, and now the boots have developed the status of iconic footwear that promises a highly comfortable stroll around the park. The origin of the boots have been debatable, with both Australia and New Zealand claiming themselves to be the place of origin of the boots. The boots have a unique design that sets them apart from all. With sheepskin coat on the exterior, fleece coatings on the inside and a synthetic sole, the boots have a unique configuration.
Through the years, there has been a persistent dispute over the trademark of the boots. In the starting years, “Blue Mountains Ugg Boots” were the authorized manufacturers, and Mortels Sheepskin Factory taking over the manufacturing rights later on. Presently, Deckers Outdoor Corporation have the exclusive rights of manufacturing in most part of the world, apart from Australia & New Zealand, where UGG Boots are considered a generic term. Many high profile celebrities have been known to endorse the boots, namely Kate Hudson, Sarah Jessica Parker and Pamela Anderson. The boots also have a unique stitching pattern, with externally visible stitches. Nowadays, the fleeces are tanned in the sun to be used as the outer layers of the boots. Despite the growing popularity of the boots, the iconic footwear had suffered opposition when animal activists protested against the use of sheepskins in the manufacture of the boots. Actress Pamela Anderson led the protests from the front, de-publicizing the boots which she had once endorsed.
Despite cries from environmental departments, the UGG Boots continues to gain popularity in the world, as one of the finest foot wears of the world.
